This cake plate was made from 1880 to 1910 by the O'Hara Glass Co. It was originally called "O'Hara #99" and later became "Horseshoe Stem". It has a plain clear plate with a scalloped skirt around the top. The midsection has a pebbled upside down horseshoe resting on a clear tiered base.
The cake stand measures approximately 10 1/4 inches wide and 8 1/4 inches tall. It has a very small chip on the inside of the base, it is barely noticeable but I want to point it out, please see last photo. It has several voids and swirls in the plate, the usual manufacturing imperfections that make antique glass so unique and beautiful. It has several very light surface scratches on the top from serving utensils. This is a very rare, hard to find piece.
